Happy New Year 2009!

Here it is... January 1st. Can you believe that a whole year has flown past already?! It nearly takes my breath away. I have been thinking out my New Year's Resolutions. And I have decided on 2 main resolutions that I will be working on. Sure, there's many things to work on in life, but these are the 2 I decided on for this time. Here and now. Maybe as the year progresses I will add more? We shall see. here they are:
1. Spend more time in God's Word. Sola Scriptura. In other words, yes, I spend time in prayer and I read uplifting material. I am reading the Great Controversy through right now and being blessed by it. However, I find that Sabbath roles around and I think, "What?! I haven't opened my Bible once this week!" That SAD to me. So, this is my #1 priority in this New Year.
2. Eat an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies. I would like to cut out a lot of canned items like this and focus more on buying fresh things and cooking with them, and just eating more of them fresh. I really am feeling the importance of adding much more fresh food to my menus. I love how some of you, my friends, are doing this. It has really encouraged me.

So there are just 2 of my resolutions. I have one more that is personal. So I think I'll just keep that one to myself. ;)
I'd love to hear from you! What are some of your Resolutions for this new year of 2009?

  1. These are good resolutions, Sarah. I am going to be writing a blog post about my resolution. I want to develop more of a heart of compassion for people, especially those with needs (financial, health, emotional, etc.). So often it is easy for me to say, "I'm sorry" and then forget about it rather than really do what I can to help. Already this week I've been seeking to do this and I feel so much happier about it! Another resolution is to spend some time reading every night. I have so many books and magazine articles I'd love to read but never take the time to do it.
