Nighttime dramas

Oh where has the blessed night's rest gone?! I am seriously craving an uninterrupted nights sleep. It's been so super long since I've had that priviledge. Nathan has decided that the middle of the night is a good time to wake up to play and chatter. He'll go on for a good hour in his crib, chattering away, wide awake. He'll finally go back to sleep and then he's up again at 5 or 6 for his bottle.
Hannah is feeling unsetteled I think. There has been a lot of change going on in her bedroom and i think it's causing her some unrest. We've painted her dresser and moved it in to her room. (yay!) Last night we installed a toy closet complete with shelving for the toys! (another yay!) Her bed has been moved from it's original location, and so has her closet armoir. So, in short, her room has been turned upside down on her in a matter of a week and I think it's slightly disturbing to her. She always wants to go out to the living room when we are trying to work on her room. (I guess the living room is still unchanged, eh?) She has also been wanting a lot more attention and cuddeling than she normally does. Last night she just wouldn't go to sleep! Finally, after 9 p.m.( after 45 minutes of cuddeling, etc...) I went in to her and sang her to sleep. Then, she was awake again about 3 hrs later and wouldn't sleep on her room any more. Mike brought her in to bed with us and she spent the rest of the night sleeping as close to one of us as she possibly could. At one point she was literally half on top of me. About 6 a.m. I brought her back to her own room where she will hopefully sleep in until a later hour.
The other night-I felt so bad-Mike and I both forgot to put a pullup on her. She awoke DRENCHED and crying at a later hour. I went in there and of course changed her and her bedding and vowed to never forget the pullup again! haha!
Other nights it seems like we're up every hour between the two. What happened to sleeping through the night?! Of course, Nathan has never known the true meaning of that phrase. He's always been a wakeful one at night, the little rascal.
Well, I had other things to post about, such as making mud pies with Hannah, and painting eggs with Hannah, and a few other topics, but I failed to upload the pictures to go along with the titles, so I guess I will wait until later... sorry!
Until next time, sleep all you can and enjoy it while you can! ;)

  1. OH wow. You really need a good night soon! I'm thankful for my solid nights of sleep -- I know they will be short-lived. :) Hope tonight is better for you!

  2. Hang in, there, Sarah! I have a 3 year-old and a two-year old, and we still are getting up a minimum of once, but usually twice per night with one or the other of them. I, too, am thinking that a good night's sleep is a thing of the past. I have been so discouraged when hearing my other friends' comments about THEIR kids sleeping through the night from 6 weeks old, etc. So, for me, your post has been encouraging. Best wishes, Chemist mom (Marcey's sister)
