Just Around the Corner

The holiday season is upon us! Thanksgiving is right around the corner with Christmas following close behind! Wow. How quickly did the year slip by, huh?
This year for the holidays we are in Florida. And to tell you the truth, it's different. I'm used to the cooler weather creeping in and the leaves falling, the trees looking barren, the grass turning brown and everything being tucked to sleep for the Winter. THEN, I turn my thoughts toward holiday cheer! It's so different here in the deep south! Palm trees are bright green, and well, so is everything else! Furthermore, it's warm down here! I am struggeling desperately to get the holiday spirit and I can hardly believe that next week is Thanksgiving!
We'll be having a big dinner down here, and we're all trying to come up with a fun dinner to prepare, as well as some table decorations-all on a dime. Not sure how far we'll get, but we'll give it our best shot.
As to Christmas, this sneaky elf has a few ideas up her sleeve and if I can ever get a quiet moment without a child clinging to my sleeve, I will be at my sewing machine at the head of the stairway working on several sweet little projects for some unsuspecting family members! However, it doesn't seem like my time is today, because Hannah is calling from her bed,(something about taking her diaper off??) Nathan is crying and this mama is tired out from trying to keep the peace today. It's been a rough morning.
So, I bid you all adieu and we'll hope that next time around, the kids are happier and I have some more interesting news to share.

  4. It is hard to get excited about the holidays when it is warm and sunny! But this year has flown so quickly.
