...that every time we come to Florida, one of the kids either gets sick or injured within the first week of arriving? This time is no exception. Hannah has "something." High fevers the first night accompanied by throwing up. Seemed fine in the morning except for sick looking eyes. Then CRASH, down she went again, with fevers and feeling really sick. Second night the chills and cold sweats, and waking up crying (I think every time she went potty in her diaper) And today she's looking a bit better, is less whiny and I think she's feeling better. However-what is she sick with is what I'm wondering! We assumed it was a UTI, since she has quite the history of them (but thankfully has not had one for 2 yrs now.) I've been pumping her full of Cranberry Juice Extract, Cranberry/Vit. C supplement that promotes a healthy urinary tract, Pedialite, Probiotics and homemade yogurt. This morning I phoned the Pediatrician back home in TN. to ask if they could write her a prescription for a UTI. They said they wanted tests ran and I should go to a walk-in clinic somewhere. When I pushed forward and told them her symptoms and explained that she has a history of them, the nurse said she'd talk with the Dr. again. So, I am still waiting. That was around 10 this morning. It's now 1:30 in the afternoon. Such slowness! Meanwhile, I had Mike go get us a hometest UTI kit. We tested her and it tested negative. Oh dear. Was it affected by all the Vit. C we've been pushing? Or does she really not have one? I guess I'll give her another test first thing in the morning when her system is emptied of it somewhat and then we'll see again. And maybe in the mean time I will hear from her Dr. For now, she seems to be holding her own and improving. So I am hopeful for the best! That whatever it is/was it is on it's way out the door.
Such fun times! ;)
