Deck the Halls

This year I wasn't sure what we were going to do for a Christmas tree. Whether we'd buy a real one, or what. So when Mike's aunt offered us her artificial tree to use along with all of its decorations and lights I was thrilled! Today the kids and I put up the tree in our room upstairs and listened to Christmas music! It was so much fun. (lots of work too, I might add! It's hard to string lights and put together that tall of a tree by yourself!) The kids were elated and had a lot of fun pulling ornaments out of boxes. Hannah was so excited when we lighted the lights. She kept exclaiming-oooooh!! Aren't those lights pretty?!! She had so much fun. The most fun yet. Nathan is still in the -tear apart and destroy stage and I had to keep him from throwing ornaments out over the porch railing. Haha!!
This year I added yellow bows to our tree in commemoration of our Soldiers fighting in the war. There are so many of them and now there will be even more headed over right after Christmas. People I know are going. People in our own home church even. It's sad. And yet, they are going forth with purpose and I just want to show that I care. So, if any of you reading this have friends and family members in the war, know that I am thinking of you and them this holiday season.

Merry Christmas Y'all!! I'm ready to bake some Christmas cookies! :-)
