Judge Not

So many times we are far too quick to judge others.
Someone might looks at a picture and right off the bat, judges by appearance and what they see. They don't know the whole story. They don't know what is in that person's heart. All they know is that they don't agree with something or they feel that something isn't right in their eyes (or in God's) and they judge.
Who are we to judge? God says clearly: Judge not that ye be not judged. We also know that there will be many people standing before the throne in the end of time whom we personally didn't think should be there-just by judging... you know?
The Bible says to love each other. To rejoice in each other's joys and speak only soft words, seasoned with salt. How many times have we chased a soul away from the truth, by pointing out their errors to them or behind their backs?
This topic has been weighing heavily upon me lately as I hear this happening so often around me. There are many topics to judge upon too. Such as; Dress and modesty, jewelry, diet, the way we choose to raise our children, entertainment, the church we attend and what we believe, attitude, music, reading selections, even the way we keep our houses- and the list can go on and on and on. We judge about everything we can think of. Somehow maybe it makes us feel better? More righteous? I don't know! But it has to stop. Why can't we, when speaking of someone else, choose to dwell only on their good points? Why can't we leave it at that? Everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey. What's right for you, may not be right for them-ever! (or at that specific time)
Now, there is a time to speak. And that is directly to the person it concerns, and only if you know they are struggeling with a certain issue and would value your advise. Otherwise, leave it be and love that person for who they are and not what you think they should be.
I've been judged a-plenty. I know what it feels like. And I've judged before too. I plan to put a stop to it. It's too easy to gossip and judge about another person. I have no right to do this and neither do you! Let's stop today and lift each other up! We all know this world is a rough place to live in and some of us struggle more than others. So let's pray for each other. If you know your brother or sister is struggeling with an issue-pray for them! Don't blab it to the world! Let's start today and make that each of our resolutions-Judge not. :)
Hope I didn't offend anyone today! But I really wanted to share this. It's a heavy topic, but it's an important one and one that was on my heart today. Thank's all!

  1. One of the most frustrating things for me is knowing I've been misunderstood and judged by someone. But I am guilty of judging too, I tend to trust my intuition about people instead of giving them a chance. I pray that I can see others through God's eyes and not with my own, dim, faulty vision. Thanks so much for sharing this!

  2. Great post. It is hard to not judge or gossip but both are hurtful. I try to remind myself that everyone is a child of God and should be treated as God treats me.
