Wisdom from Proverbs

This month I am focusing on reading through the book of Proverbs. I am keeping it simple-1 chapter a day-it will take me exactly one month! There is so much to be gleaned from the book of Proverbs that I may just read it over again next month and gain some more insight!
Today there were several verses that spoke to my heart:

"But the path of the just is as a shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."
"Keep thine heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
"Ponder the path of they feet, and let all they ways be established."

Definitely a few verses to contemplate throughout the days and weeks to come. Is the path that I am walking shining brightly to those around me and my family? Am I keeping my heart with diligence? Are my feet walking the correct pathway?

Food for thought for sure!

Another quick thing I wanted to mention was the Complete Him Challenge. Last week we were supposed to pray for our husbands in many different areas. I took this challenge a bit further. At the website, www.reviveourhearts.com There are several download pages. One page on there was a 31 day plan specifically for praying for our husbands. I printed out this plan and I have been following it daily in prayer for my husband. There is also a 31 day plan for our children. Today's prayers for my children were on Love for God's Word. Interestingly enough-going right along with my reading today-the prayer for my husband was that he would love righteousness and hate wickedness and that he would be able to recognize the difference in his own life and take a strong stand for the right.

Folks-there is so much power in God's Word and in prayer!
I am so thankful for simple plans out there that help you to get started so to speak in spending time with God. And this is do-able. It's not an hour. It doesn't even have to be 30 minutes. Just a few moments of time. I often do it while the children are napping in the afternoon. It's the time that seems to work best for me. I know that it's typical for it to be in the morning, first thing. But at this point in my life, it's awfully hard to get it done and be able to focus on hearing the Word.
So, that's what works for me today!

  1. Thanks for the link! www.reviveourhearts.com

I just joined the Complete Him Challenge and decided to follow the blogs of everyone that has signed up so far. I've been working a different program from The Respect Dare and decided (like you) to take the challenge a bit further. That's how I ended up here. I look forward to getting to know you better.
