Homeschool Plans

It's back to school time! What are our plans for this year? Well, this summer we've been working on our Rod and Staff preschool workbooks off and on. They are nearly done! Hannah has really enjoyed using them! Although I loved the books, I could see that at such a young age (3) all bookwork wasn't going to cut it. She needed more hands on activities and crafts and not so much FOCUS INTENTLY sort of stuff that tends to wear a little one out. I've done quite a bit of researching and searching all over the internet this summer and have come across a program that I think will fit our needs just perfectly! It will include both Nathan AND Hannah beautifully. Enter..... Hands on Homeschooling. I am so excited about this program! It starts the first week in September and ends in May. There are several different programs geared for specific ages. There's a 2 yr old, 3 yr, 4 yr. 5 yr. and 1st grade program. We'll be doing the 3 yr. old program this year, this way it's challenging and inclusive of both children. It has a whole list of things to know by the end of the year. Each week/month is mapped out for you. There are three activities daily. With Bible being taught each day. A new memory verse is learned each month and 1 new Bible story each week to go along with the memory verse. Your child will learn manners and health habits, and many basic skills of life. There is a new theme each week/month. The calendar tells you what to be on the lookout for to get for the next month's projects. As well as some books that you can pick up from the local library. I like that it tells you in advance so you can be prepared and have the books ordered ahead of time! The crafts and projects are SIMPLE and easily done. The supplies needed are very BASIC. So, while being creative and FUN, it's not OVER THE TOP. For which I am glad. I like that this program is structured and spelled out and yet so easily accomplished. It will be perfect for two youngun's plus a newborn!
I mentioned this program to my mother the other day and she offered to pay for half the program! I was so excited because I've been wondering exactly how I was going to be able to get it. I had about half the amount needed. I had some money saved, but a large portion was going to get an ERGO baby carrier-I KNOW I'll be needing it this time around!!! So thanks mom! I'm so excited! I can't wait to order the program and get started! September is right around the corner!
What are your schoolin' plans for the new school year? :)
