More Applesauce

Recently I turned 3 more bushels of apples into sauce.Making that 5 bushels of apples that I did up-SOLO- this year. Whew! That's a lot of work I'm telling you what!
The sauce was especially delicious this year I thought.
A big pot of sliced apples ready to cook.
My back to basics food mill. I made it through with this thing til the last pot full of cooked apples in which the hopper bowl completely melted down into nothingness. This is the second bowl that has melted on me. Unless they decide to change the material that the bowl is made of I do not recommend this piece of kitchen equipment. Sorrrrrrrrrrrry...... :/
Meanwhile, my kidlets put grapes in baggies to freeze.
(and ohhhhh people! Do you see chaos going on in the last several blog posts that contain pictures of inside?? Exciting renovations have been going on in my home!! See those white living room walls?? they aren't white anymore. And where there was carpet? There is now wood flooring! Pictures will come as soon as I download the finished product picture on to my computer!! :) Wooooo hooo!!

  1. I can't believe it melted!!! That's terrible! Glad you got most of the work done before though... :) You are really amazing to do that all by yourself. I wait for Tim's help.

  2. Wow, I've never had that happen--the hopper melt, I mean. Do you have a Roma sauce maker, or a different brand?
