{Heart to Heart}The Little Lady

What are girls made of?
Sugar and spice and everything nice...
And wasn't it the boys that were made of snails and puppy tails? ;)
Seems this little lass likes the puppy tails part of things?

She's growing so fast, learning so much. A bundle of love, and such a little lady.

But how do I instill these lady-like values in her?
By being present as a mother, gently and quietly showing her how to sit modestly in a dress, show manners to her elders, smile and graciously thank others for their kindness, Politeness and honesty, courteousy, and most importantly by setting her an example by my own actions.
It's easy to let our own flesh get in the way, to yell at our precious children for their innocent childish actions, to grow irritated with life and tired and moody, it's easy to talk negatively about someone else behind their backs- but in front of our children, it's easy to fall into an argument with our spouse in front of our children. But if we could just stop for a moment before we errupt and count to ten and pray to God for His strength and then courageously take a stand against these traits and rather show our sons and daughters how to talk well about others, how to control our frusterations, how to always treat others how we would like to be treated.... then we would be doing them a huge favor. And we would be showing them such a better way...
Mothers, we are the examples for our daughters.

  1. So very true, we are the example of Jesus to our children, especially our little girls! Such beautiful pictures of her by the way! :)
