School is Out~Now What?!

I think for many moms out there, the big question is posed: "School is out~Now what?!"
What is going to fill our days?
What is going to occupy our children and yet allow us to take a bit of a much needed break as well?
Summer is a great time to spend as much time as possible outdoors.
For me to be able to do this, I have to be proactive and plan.
How can I cut housework down to a minimum? (I am still working on this one!)
How can I keep the kids content outside without the running in and out of the house all of the time? (And I have some ideas for this, that I will show you in a later post. ;))
For a snack, consider a veggie or fruit tray:
And a pitcher of Herbal Tea or Ice water. The Bulk Herb Store offers some wonderfully delicious teas that our family loves! Our favorite is our own combination of Hibiscus and Peppermint. And I like to add in Raspberry leaf as well. I will have a Tutorial coming soon for this! :)
Read stories that you know will spark the imagination of your child and spur on creativity. We like "Day's on the Farm with Annette and Samuel" for lots of fun imaginative ideas to reenact. Stories like Davy Crockett and more are all lots of fun. And what better place to read than out of doors under a shady tree or on the porch?
Enjoy the beauty surrounding you. Make sure to stop, and smell those roses. Both figuratively and realistically. Each rose only blooms once. ;) Remember that in the same token, our children are only small once. Let's try and not stress over every little thing and rather just stop and enjoy them!
Make popcicles!
Run through the water sprinkler!
Pick greenbeans!
Do a treasure hunt!
Draw pictures of the nature around you!
Read books!
Do crafts outside
ENjoy the life God has given YOU!

  1. Yes, I remember these years when my children were young...my daughter is now experiencing the busy summer with her 4 and we love to help out with some of those summer activities as grandparents. Your photos are lovely and your veggies look delicious. Good idea for hungry little bodies. Bless you.
