It Was a Book Club Sort of Night

Monday night. 6:30. Found me in the company of 9 other beautiful women in the home of a new friend and fellow blogger ( We got together to fellowship and discuss Emily Freeman's newest book "A Million Little Ways."
The ladies all came, bearing their offerings of tasty foods and drinks and we gathered around in the kitchen and living room. Laughing, talking and listening. For me it was just like a breath of fresh air. A mom's night away??! Get out! Just what this mama needed! Each lady present had her own unique and fun personality. I loved that I could see God's love in each and every one of them. I could see and I could feel that they knew God. Such a powerful testimony! After we had laughed and chatted our fill, we all assembled in the living room, book (or Kindle) in hand to discuss the things that we had gleaned from the book. One gal had her beautiful leather journal in hand, 5 pages of notes written about the book. Another had highlighted areas throughout her Kindle and still another (that could be me) had tons of dog eared pages and no notes at all. (ha!) As each one went around the room introducing herself I was reminded in a very tangible way how each of us writes our own Art each and every day through our lives.
I enjoyed hearing everyone's perspective on different parts of the book and how they had applied it or were applying it to their lives. We sat around discussing and after some time, when everyone's eyelids were beginning to droop we wrapped it up, picked out a book for next month, decided on a time and a place and we all left with a beautiful jar of homemade lotion! So special! That lotion is amazing! (you can find the recipe on
I'd love to encourage y'all to gather a few friends together from time to time. It doesn't have to be a book club, just something to get you together. And chat! And laugh! And have fun! It is SO refreshing!! I can hardly wait til next time! :)
