I've been considering this room for some time. I wanted to feel Romance in here.
To me, it just looks like big bed with a quilt hung over the bed. That quilt has been hanging there since we were married 8 1/2 years ago. I like it. Don't get me wrong! I love it! It has a lot of warm memories of my church family back in Missouri. But it was time for a bit of a change.
I texted a true girlfriend and she got on Pinterest right away and began emailing me Pins of beautiful and romantic bedrooms. She also advised I loose the bin at the foot of the bed. ( I did. It's now in my closet, with stuff stacked on top of it. Ha! At least I'm honest y'all)
I knew I couldn't paint walls and this n that, but I could do lights! I saw some gorgeous displays of tulle and lights and finally got an idea in my mind as to what I could replicate.
You see, I've left out an important detail- my hubby was 13 hours away, down in Florida selling our Golden Retriever puppies and he was gone for 8 very long days. They say absence makes the heart grow stronger and I guess it worked, because I decided that this would be a very good time to add the romance to our room.
So.... my 3 youngun's and I took a trip to Hobby Lobby and Ross for some supplies! Tulle, White lights, a few signs (50% off at Hobby Lobby!) picture frame, flicker candles, and the biggest splurge... 800 thread count IZOD sheets for our bed!
When I saw this sign, I knew it was the one for us.
There are so many wonderful word signs- many of them adhesive-that I loved. However, our walls are highly textured plaster and adhesiveness just wasn't going to be working. So I was glad to find this sign at Hobby Lobby! And it was 50% off too!
I found this picture frame at Ross and spent quite a while one evening pouring over photo albums for the perfect pictures-that were turned in the right direction!
I found this cute little frame at Ross as well.
I found these little signs at Hobby Lobby- also 50% off. The one on top about Goodbye's certainly was fitting for our situation at the time!
I pulled my veil out and hung it up on my dresser mirror and got a little candle stand and flicker candle from Hobby Lobby to add to the décor.
I like the way it shines and flickers and adds a soft glow.
When hubby got home he was quite happy with the finished product and we both agree that just these few small touches have helped to make our room more of a romantic haven for us as a couple at the end of a long and tiring day.
